Book Review: Your Middle Years. Love Them. Live Them. Own Them by Paula Mee & Kate O’Brien, published by Gill Books.
Paula Mee and Kate O’Brien joined forces to write this book as they had many of their own questions when they reached menopause. They discovered that with the right diet and lifestyle, science is proving that women can look, be and feel their best through their menopausal years and beyond.
The book offers plenty of practical advice and solutions for women during their menopausal years. If you are into detail then this is the book for you. If you prefer to dip in and out of a book there are plenty of handy ‘fast facts’ in each chapter.
The book covers diet, sleep, sex, beauty, immunity, bones, heart health, movement, mindfulness and complementary therapies.
In particularly enjoyed the chapter on complementary therapies.
There is a useful 1500 calories meal plan and there are also over 30 recipes, showing calories per portion. I can personally vouch for the Prawn Creole dish!
The book is beautifully illustrated by Eva Byrne.
